The Facts About War

My story “The Diaries of Michael” is about an American teenager who enlists for World War I. He is assigned to the American Expeditionary Force, under the command of the famous General, General John J. Pershing.

This piece was easy for me to write. It was easy to write because Ms. Jorisch and Mr. Fauvell gave us plethora of information about the topic.

One thing I learned is the use of first person narrative. First person narrative allows the reader to hear the inner, personal thoughts of the main character.

Additionally, I learned about/writing this piece I learned the gruesome facts about war. For instance, the main character dies at his first battle. Before writing this piece, I thought war was cool. Now, I realize war is the worst thing possible.
